deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Junior Software Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking a Junior Software Test Engineer that will support the test team with developing and integrating a test architecture to support the of testing of a tactical software product line. The Software Test Engineer will be required develop scripts and update current test architecture and test scripts to provide an automated test architecture for to test this tactical software system.

In addition, the Software Test Engineer will perform the following activities/duties:

1. Design, create, execute, monitor, and update system test plans, customer acceptance tests, and unit tests.
2. Design, code, test, document, and debug new and existing applications according to industry best practices.
3. Monitor, analyze, optimize, and improve existing test scripts and software tests.
4. Document, investigate, fix, and report on software defects.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.  A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is desired.

Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of applicable experience.  Experience with product software development testing; C and C++ programming languages and scripting.

Special Skills Desired:
Experience with Ada development.

Position Description:

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer responsible for implementing information systems security tasks as required for the safeguarding, handling, and controlling classified and non-classified information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems and procedures to safeguard information systems, networks and databases.
  • Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications and information systems security education/ awareness programs.
  • Establishes and satisfies system-wide information security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of authorization packages, account management, security auditing and configuration management reporting.
  • Performs periodic hardware/software inventory assessments.
  • Collects, analyzes, and stores system audit records.
  • Ensures Configuration Management (CM) for security-related IS software, hardware, and firmware is maintained and documented.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline.

Experience Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess at least 5+ years’ experience in information systems security including enforcement of company and government regulations, knowledge of NISPOM, DAAPM, Risk Management Framework, and a relevant background in security management, NIST understanding, and FISMA requirements.  Additionally, the candidate should possess experience with public key infrastructure (PKI), DISA STIG tool, STIG viewer, and HBSS.

BGI-1810: Earned Value Management Analyst (Huntsville, AL)

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for an experienced Earned Value Management Analyst.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Earned Value Management Analyst to be responsible for developing and maintaining an Earned Value Management (EVM) baseline along with a MS Project schedule. The candidate will support the program manager to satisfy the Earned Value Management reporting requirements of a government sponsored program. This position helps drive effective project execution relative to cost performance, delivery performance and effective program resource planning. Successful candidates will analyze program performance (historical and predictive), monitor the forecasted completion data, and support recommendations made to the program and control account managers.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development of the program's cost and schedule baseline to be presented at Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) with the government.
  • Ensures the program cost and schedule baseline satisfies contractual requirements.
  • Assists with the development and execution of programmatic budgets and financial plans that align with the program baseline.
  • Participates in the control of costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Attends meetings and briefings to Government Clients on EVM and schedule performance.
  • Prepares and reviews financial documentation such as Contract Funds Status Reports (CFSR) and Integrated Program Management Reports (IPMR).
  • Ensures compliance with American National Standards Institute/Electronic Industries Alliance Standard 748 (ANSI/EIA-748), Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and associated internal company procedures.
  • Builds integrity, establishes relationships, and maintains communication with stakeholders at multiple levels to distribute EVM cost information.
  • Assists with the integration of data from Microsoft Project and Unanet and ensures accuracy of data.
  • Develops and maintains artifacts and other program documentation.
  • Supports DCMA Surveillance activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Program Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess at least 3+ years of experience in preparing and maintaining EVM artifacts such as: Control Account Plans (CAP), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS), Basis of Estimate (BOE), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Work Authorization Document (WAD).

  • Exerience in program finance and government contracting for multiple contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M).
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and EV tools.
  • Familiarity with DoD Contracting environment.
  • Scheduling experience is required.
  • Strong initiative with the ability to work independently without close supervision.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers with the ability to use MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with MS Project.

deciBel Research is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security posture measures for the protection of computer networks and information. The candidate will ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic information and infrastructure.  The candidate may respond to computer security breaches and viruses. The following are some of the activities expected of this individual:

  •     Confer with users and system owners to discuss issues such as computer system operational needs, RMF security controls, security control implementation, and programmatic changes.

  •     Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security for testing and deployment of systems.
